Davis-Monthan Air Force Base welcomes Air Combat Command's 6th Angel Thunder Personnel Recovery and Rescue Exercise April 7-20.
During the exercise air operations will include a variety of native and visiting aircraft including the A-10 Thunderbolt II, HH-60G Pave Hawk, HC-130J Combat King II, CH-47 Chinook and UH-1Y Huey.
Angel Thunder participants will partner with local, state and federal agencies, including the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, Pima County Sheriff, Cochise County Sheriff, Gila County Sheriff, Graham County Emergency Management, UAMC, JC Lincoln Hospital, the Red Cross and Volunteer Urban Search and Rescue on April 13. This part of Angel Thunder will exercise emergency response procedures to increase proficiency, efficiency, and interoperability in dealing with catastrophic events and Defense Support to Civil Authorities.
